Where is the nation going ?
Hello readers ,
Wolf here !
Few days back the central government issued a statement in which they stated that there was no C-19 death in India during the second wave due to shortage of oxygen . What an irony ! That's the thought what comes to our minds when we think about it . Few weeks back when there was so hustle and bustle in the hospitals and the medical oxygen supplying facilities concerning the hike in demand of oxygen cylinders and concentrators , the same government was as mute and dead as an expired faulty tape . But as that dreading situation calmed down , the government comes up with so infuriating statement which was unprecedented .

Indian democracy has seen certain failures in the past years but the one this time we as a citizen of the Indian Republic saw was a blunder . The government was warned about the second wave of the covid pandemic , about a year's time was available and further the vaccine development was almost completed by that time but this all was neglected . It is not a wonder that the only thing that mattered to the centre was the revenue from hiking the petrol/diesel prices and the elections in certain states like West Bengal and Tamil Nadu . The elections responded as nothing but a hotspot for the covid transmission and later the post poll violence in West Bengal acted as a fuel to that enraged fire . When the lower classes of the country are already in shambles and hard struck by the wave of poverty , govt gave a hard blow worsening it by hiking the fuel prices . Fossil fuels are one of the most important commodity of the Indian lifestyle . A single push up in prices inflates the rate of almost every essential commodity and the same was observed . Almost every essential , from cooking oil to vegetables , are at their peak prices than ever . How can a person with no job left due to the lockdowns and with almost no savings even plan out of this maze of prices to survive this hell ? These all are the sorrows that both middle class and lower class of the Indian society is experiencing at the current moment along with the pain of losing someone close to them . In the second wave , no one was barred unaffected from the cruelness of this pandemic . Each one of us lost someone close to them or at least someone we knew . The condition was so worsened that even people had to bury their loved ones in the banks of river Ganga as there was no place left available for their burial . And the humankind once again saw a situation most of us would have never even thought in our worst nightmares. The pious river Ganga was flooded with floating bodies of the C-19 victims that were buried at the river bank due to soil erosion . This was heartbreaking . Is this the glorious past that we would like to recall in the future ??? I don't know what message or motive the centre holds within their minds , but the only thing that each heart wants to convey them is their acknowledgement , the acknowledgement of all the citizen who lost their lives due to the negligence of the centre itself . This is the time the government focuses further on developing health infrastructure more and more and lower the prices of fossil fuels so that a common man can take a sigh of relief .
